Idaho State Record Brown Trout Caught
Wes Case of Ashton has reeled in the largest brown trout on record in Idaho.
Case caught the 27.3-pound hog in Ashton Reservoir on bait with eight-pound test line on a spinning reel. The fish was caught November 6 and was 37 inches long and 24 inches around.
The previous record was a 26.4-pounder, 36.5 inches long and 24.75 inches around. It was caught by Farrell Oswald of Idaho Falls in the South Fork of the Snake River April 16, 1981.
The world record brown, reportedly, is a 40.25-pounder caught May 2, 1992, by Howard "Rip" Collins in the Little Red River in Arkansas. _________________ ---------------------------
