Chinese salmon?

Postby Todd » Sat Aug 21, 2010 9:20 pm

We went to Wal-mart last night and they had some frozen salmon fillets in a 2lb bag for $8. There were 6 pieces cut into pieces about 2.5" x 5".

We got them without much thought to the origin which I usually check. I thought most came from either Alaska or South America. Well, I was just getting them ready for dinner and low and behold, it says it's a "wild caught product of China".

Does that mean they were actually caught in China's waters, or processed there?

Not that it makes much difference, I doubt I will get any more simply because of the China factor. Not a bad price, but I am willing to pay a little more for American product.
